for Biden, the NYT website does not reflect that. There are still enough outstanding votes from normally red counties to overcome Bidens current lead. That was the case last night and its still the case this morning. Much as I loved thinking I lived in a blue state, it seems thats not really the case, at least not yet.

AZ may not be deep blue but it will go for Biden in the end.

(4,660 posts)that their guy who'd called AZ for Biden (to the great dismay of the orange blotus people) explain himself, which he did convincingly.
If he's wrong, he'll be looking for work.

(2,574 posts)It's not just that "it was claimed here last night that AP had called Arizona for Biden", the Associated Press really did call Arizona for Biden.
PHOENIX (AP) Joe Biden won Arizonas 11 electoral votes, becoming the second Democratic presidential candidate since 1948 to claim victory in the longtime Republican stronghold.
The former vice president benefited from the states changing demographics and successfully won over swing voters who split their tickets two years ago to elect a Republican governor and a Democrat to the U.S. Senate.
Trump and his allies made an aggressive, but ultimately futile, push to hold on to Arizona, which the president won by 3.5 percentage points in 2016.
Meanwhile, former astronaut Mark Kelly defeated Republican Sen. Martha McSally to become Arizonas second Democratic senator. Arizona hasnt had two Democratic senators since Earnest McFarland lost his reelection bid in 1952.
