I'm thinking those Trump voters in 2018

Either sat out or voted for a Democrat but came home to him in this election so I’m guessing why the polling was so off.

It's about him for a lot of them. He's their Obama. Just like our side sat home in 2010 but came back out in 12.

Only in this way is he comparable, but when so amazing wasn’t on the ballot Dems did badly. When he was he and the party did well. Trump is a cult figure that pulls people outta the woodwork that aren’t as motivated by off year elections.
