Critical: Find out how to volunteer in your state to cure ballots/provisional ballots!!!

I am sure some DUer has this information, but PLEASE TODAY volunteer in your state to help cure ballots and make provisional ballots count.

There are a ton of these throughout the country, and it can make a difference, either at the Presidential level or at the Senate/other races.

PLEASE DO THIS IF YOU CAN. THERE MAY STILL BE TIME IN EVERY STATE IN THE US.

Poll observers track down the provisional voters and, if possible, get contact info for them.

I know that for a fact because that's what we did as poll observers yesterday.

we can do it

They have to cure, but folks need to be reminded to go cure the issue.

They sent my friend to a tiny town in South Texas

Many of the addresses were abandoned oil camps or vacant lots with overgrown brush and rattle snakes.
She did not have fun.

Got many addresses.

I guess if your friend found rattle snakes, she was curing ballots for the Rethugs?

These people probably voted provisional because they were not registered or not registered at an address given etc.
She went to about 100 places. She talked to a few live people who had never hear of the voter at the said address. The voters provided addresses to the clerk when they placed their provisional ballots.

This was for a Democratic candidate. One of my friends was skeptical of the venture ahead of time though. She said it would be a waste of time.

There were many same day registrants in our polling place. These need to be checked on. It varies state by state. And this is just one example.

If someone cares enough to come to the polls and get a provisional, I really do think there is merit in following up. Working an election is EXTREMELY HARD work, but I felt good that I contributed something, albeit small, and was TRULY impressed with the dedication of my fellow Dem observers.

Maybe they had moved and didn't change their address.

We also have alot of undocumented workers here. (Right near the border) My hunch is that they didn't know they couldn't legally vote and went and voted.

Here's a funny story. I was sent to this weird neighborhood for Beto in 2018 and he used a weird app that sent me to "each and every house". (good gawd awful) The neighborhood turned out to be a bedroom community of H-1B Visa holders. Almost no one was citizen. I stopped at one house who had just arrived from Saudi Arabia. They said, "We just got here, but we'll register nest week".

Most people simply responded that they were not a citizen and could not vote. But the new family just didn't know......

But there were so many new voters yesterday. We were really proud of that. If even half of them pan out, that is many more than we had at the beginning of the process.

TX is TX, and this is one way to suppress votes. If you are citizen, you have the right to vote in my view. Period. Full stop. End of discussion. Same day registration/voting is exactly what should happen.
