I Just spoke with an Admin with the election office.
I inquired about the voting issues they were having. They are still counting votes and replicating the ballots that got rejected when scanning them the first time because the bar codes were unreadable. The process is slow and a member of every party is present. Dem-rep-lib-grn.
They are counting every vote and that it will take until the rest of the week. They should have the vote tally down by Monday with ALL votes counted, absentee, provisionals, overseas ballots being processed.
I discussed the optics of the networks calling the election on election night and that when the networks do this it causes confusion and people believe someone is cheating. She agreed that it is an issue. But what ya gonna do. The networks have a dog and pony show for all of us glued to our tv's waiting for the FINAL tallies. Only to be misled because not all votes are tallied that night.
KEEP THE FAITH. There are apparently a lot of votes still not processed the Texas. And TEXAS could very well be BLUE! TIME WILL TELL!

(25,471 posts)While I appreciate your optimism, I'm not optimistic that there are enough votes out there to make up that kind of margin.
Edit for brain cramp.

Shouldn't look at national results, three different state results, and post at the same time.

(22,252 posts)Not much prospect of the whole state, since this is a problem here in Tarrant. I do not know if this happened in any other counties.

Bexar County has about 1,000 mail ballots to count. (Those that arrived today will be counted)

The mad dash comes after local officials realized this weekend that the staffing shortage could delay more than 4,500 mail-in ballots the county has already received but has not yet processed. As of Saturday, the county was still awaiting some 23,000 other absentee ballots to be returned.
Scanners have rejected about one-third of mail-in ballots in Tarrant County because of defects, forcing workers to manually duplicate thousands of ballots, a tedious task in normal times. As of Saturday, the county had already received more than 66,000 mail-in ballots, trouncing its 2016 and 2018 mail-in turnout, when less than 40,000 people voted absentee.
Maybe Biden has a chance.
