Ossof reaches a run off as their numbers are tracking fairly closely.

He might even if Biden just barely loses.

About 200,000 absentee ballots remained to be counted in Georgia on Wednesday afternoon, many of them concentrated in some of the state’s largest counties.

There have been just 1,566 absentee ballots rejected in Georgia, accounting for 0.1% of all ballots returned, according to state election data. The bulk of absentee ballot rejections are for missing or invalid signatures.

Voters have until Friday to correct problems with their absentee ballots and have them counted. Election officials are required to contact voters within one business day when absentee ballots are rejected.

In addition, voters have until this Friday to correct problems with absentee or provisional ballots, such as mismatched signatures or voter registration issues. Election officials will also conduct recounts when required, double-check vote counts and conduct the first audit of results in a statewide race. The race to be audited hasn’t yet been announced by the secretary of state’s office.

Even after next week, the count still isn’t finished.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has until Nov. 20 to certify results.

Then runoffs, if necessary, in state races will be held Dec. 1.

The Electoral College will meet Dec. 14 to cast votes for president.

A runoff for U.S. Senate between Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock is scheduled for Jan. 5.

So, if not Osoff, maybe Warnock.

will be the tie-breaker and give Dems control.

They could also woo a republican senator or two to switch to I and deny Rs the majority. That's what Dems did with Arlen Specter getting him to switch from R to D back during Clinton's term, iirc.

And the 4 seats remaining are extremely unlikely.

The main goal was to slam the brakes on Trump's runaway fascism. It would have been nice to also have an easier path to accomplish Biden's agenda this term, but an R-held Senate is going to be challenging to deal with.

Even getting his cabinet noms through will be a fucking ride. Fucking McConnell.

Possibly Warnock on Jan 5, and maybe.... I don't know...

With Biden as president, he only needs to peel two away from Republicans and lie to McConnell so we can get him to do floor votes.

McConnell would die rather than let that happen. Still. Biden has an old relationship with him. And looking at his hands, I can't say what I want to any further...

We'll probably keep Michigan to make it 48 to 48. NC and GA are the ones to watch, but, a quick glance at the numbers for NC, doesn't look like we have it.

Winning the Senate was always a long shot, this was the year where the map favored the GOP to remain in control. The majority will shrink a bit for the GOP, but not enough to gain control. Concern troll Collins and Murkowski are going to hold a lot of power in the next session.

In the House, last thing I read was we actually lost a few seats....interestingly, mostly to women GOP. The RNC has to be looking at that with great interest.

Another reason to admit two more states. oh wait...

Lotta good that move will do with Mitch the Vampire hanging around.
