I'm looking at different sites to see the reaction from Trump supporters with everything that is going on.
Many feel that the Republicans are not doing enough to help Trump.
One suggested not supporting the 2 Republicans running for Senate during the Runoff election if Republicans allow Biden to "steal" Georgia .
Many calling out Nikki Haley, Rubio and others who may want to run for President in the future for not doing enough to help Trump.
It will be interesting to see everything that happens once Trump is gone and how much influence he has over Republicans then.

(2,318 posts)If Biden had won quickly and easily, folks from the LP and other Never Trumpers may have felt welcome back in a new GOP. However, this result may leave us with Trumpism and a bunch of permanent independents, a rising third party on the right, and/or new Democrats. That might be a good thing.

(33,554 posts)Republican voters should test the truth of what they've been fed. Let Democrats run government at various levels to see what happens. If the warnings from the likes of Hannity and Ingraham come true, vote 'em back out. If, on the other hand, corruption declines and your local economy improves and your health care expenses decline, you will know you were lied to by the multi-millionaires and billionaires.

(1,605 posts)It would be wicked irony if Trumps MAGAts gave control of the Senate to the Dems.
MAGA is going to tear the Republicans apart.

(16,548 posts)They either throw themselves into the Trump lunacy about how the election was stolen from him or run the risk of having a bunch of very angry MAGATs on their hands. And of course by doing that, they become candidates any sane person could never vote for.
Doesnt mean they will lose but its not a great spot to be in.

(5,969 posts)It was argued during the election coverage that Trump was beneficial for Repub down ballot races. That makes it even more important that there will be no doubt that Trump lost, even for the most delusional deplorables. There should be no hope that they get out the vote for a Senate majority for Trump.

Trump is to kGOP as Obama is to dem pollitics (but in the moral, upstanding human version) there's NO WAY the DNC would dismiss Obama or put him on the back burner.

(1,896 posts)We can help in exposing them to the truth. Not the truths of the political world in which they voice opinion, but the truths about who they themselves are: unloyal, back stabbing opportunists. They climbed aboard that train of racist, xenophobic, misogynistic mouthpieces and felt they belonged there, felt they found a new home.
Well turn off the lights now. You failed as a group and you failed as individuals. You were on top of the world but were incapable of running it. You weren't capable because each and every one of you had self interests as your number one priority. You didn't pull your weight for the team because you put yourself first, and that is the reason your friends and you failed. You failed your friends. Your friends failed you. Now tomorrow when you get to work look around you. Look at your friends. Your friends whose fight was to ensure you didn't get better healthcare. Your friends fought for the owners to keep more for themselves, to have bigger houses and nicer cars. Where's yours? Well I'm sorry, your friends would like you to stay right where you are - with them.

(3,636 posts)Now that Trump is a failure, they probably won't vote for dems but getting them to come out for a special election is going to be a big ask.

(1,896 posts)They are human after all. It's probable that they will do what most all of us do - pass the blame. Passing the blame is effortless, unlike coming out for a special election - that requires motivation and as of right now they have the motivation of a dog sitting with its leg in the air, licking himself

(4,016 posts)...eating their own not only in the runoffs but having 2 years to blast Senators and Representatives of their own party b/4 the next elections. Even richer, poisoning the well for potential Presidential candidates for 4 full years before the next elections. Gotta love how they are disintegrating before our very eyes! Go Trumpers!

talks about how divided the Democratic party is. Oh, how I despise Morning Joe, Mika, and Willie. Tried watching for fifteen minutes to catch up on any new vote tallies that came in overnight and had to sit through their "we're not conservatives but really we are" routine.
Repukes are going to rally behind their party. Hopefully, there is a big enough splinter that the infighting resentment will cause enough disunity to let the Democratic party consolidate it's power base but I really fear the racist glue will bond repukes to unity like it has for the last 50yrs. Rest up, folks. We're gonna have to work this hard in 2022 to get the senate and hold the house.
