Dems flip GA 7th

Carolyn Bourdeaux, a two-time Democratic candidate and college professor, flipped an open House seat in Georgia on Friday that had become a top priority for Democrats seeking to expand their majority in the House.

Ms. Bourdeaux, 50, who lost her previous bid to represent the Seventh Congressional District in 2018 by fewer than 500 votes, defeated the Republican candidate Rich McCormick in the suburban district northeast of Atlanta, according to The Associated Press.

The district, which includes parts of Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties, had once been fertile ground for Republicans. But as with suburbs across the nation, it has become increasingly diverse and has been shifting toward Democrats, particularly since President Trump took office.

2. Thanks. I am somewhat pissed by some pushing the talking point that there was no blue wave.

We flipped at least two Senate seats, re-elected the NC Democratic governor, and potentially two Senate seat in Georgia

5. I've been getting that same feeling today. Remember when 2018 fizzled...until it exploded?

Not quite that magnitude this time, but no disaster AT ALL!

but overall, Dems got the job done. That's the important part. I am especially proud of GA, I have to say. 🤗

That Amash held—that was NOT a Dem seat, per NYTimes. So really, they have flipped 4.

Grade-A Trump-humping alpha male. He was a physician always strutting around in TV commercials in his scrubs.

14. Could you find some place to stash Rand Paul? A lot of Kentuckians would be thankful.

Nevermind. GA has enough to deal with, without taking our "ignorant GOPer physicians".

I hope I live long enough to see Kentucky flipping blue, piece by piece or all at once.

6. Yep. Lucy McBath did it in 2018 and Bourdeaux this year. I know it might be a few elections before

culturally diverse and denser in population. The northern section still has a lot of farm/ranch land, and very conservative people. Lots of trump signs in northern Forsyth County.

Forsyth warning Blacks not to stay.

You are right that southern Forsyth is much like diverse Gwinnett. It's nice to see Gwinnett voting Democratic.

I grew up in Gwinnett County in the 50s and 60s. It was common knowledge that Black people did not even drive through Forsyth County after dark out of legitimate fear.

This is stunning.
