(8,445 posts)I will miss him so much. I think his political leanings were apparent by some of the answers/questions. I know he didn't make them, but surely he had some say in some way. And I know he was Canadian, but this election definitely had world wide impact.

Jeopardy won't be the same without him.

(54,443 posts)It took Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It took Alex Trebek. It took my father.
It almost never makes itself known until it's too late, usually never gives it victim a chance.
If I ever can say I hate a disease, it's that one.

(269,181 posts)Love Jeopardy.
I hope John Michael Higgins from America Says is the new host. Ken Jennings is as exciting as watching paint dry.

(6,386 posts)Jennings = paint for sure.
Higgins...for whatever reason, I just can't take him seriously. I see him in a comedian role...too lightweight to replace AT.
Maybe just too soon.
malaise
(269,181 posts)shortly after we heard Alex was ill. Others mentioned Ben Bailey.
I wonder how many shows Alex taped for this season. I noticed last week that he was making errors.
He was one tough cookie the way he fought that cancer.
I started watching Jeopardy from the 70s in the Fleming days. I wasn't really a Trebek fan until recently. He grew on me.

May Alex Rest In Peace, my Mom absolutely loved his show.

So sorry to see this. My mom loved Trebek. She's an avid Jeopardy watcher.
He wasn't even the original host, but he became synonymous with Jeopardy.
Say Alex Trebek, people think Jeopardy.
Say, Jeopardy, people think Alex Trebek!
He became an icon!

(9,213 posts)That he and Connery died within a week of each other.
More about Trabek though...in college we spent years watching jeopardy with groups of friends, sometimes half of my dorm would be there watching. Beyond that I watched off and on for decades and it was a great forum for me to feel confidence by showing off my useless knowledge.
RIP Alex!

(25,816 posts)A big loss. We watched Jeopardy everyday and competed against each other for fun.
We watched Friday, and though I don't know when it was taped, it had to be fairly recently.
He seemed fine. I knew he was in bad shape on the inside, but you couldn't tell. He was always
humorous and intelligent. He'll be very hard to replace. So long Alex, we'll miss you here.
