Sigh (a little venting) I kind of wish I'd gone down to one of the celebrations ...

... in Manhattan yesterday. I live in the Bronx.

I'm 67, healthy but make quite limited visits outside my neighbor, and then only to my pharmacy 1x until July when I went toTraders, Sept when I went to my old (any) park since nearly 11 months earlier. Met my sis 2xs for lunch Sept, Nov, and have 2 friend meet ups before it gets to cold. Two trips to Home Depot, & Michaels.

I'm more of an extrovert, but enjoy, need alone time for my art, crafts pursuits.

Anyway I myself though way more often w friends/fam have attended some if the biggest, greatest, most important, or exciting events, commemorations in NYC (usually Mnahattan), and demonstrations 😉 as well - all my life! Some of you'd be amazed.

And this is the most important event that involve me and all the circles beyond me city, country, international, and planet. Even more than like Nixon resigning!

I love being amongst, or near cheering crowds! (I usually photograph, too)

I didn't a hear damn thing in my name. Now I'm in the back of my building, but I hear plenty of traffic - no honking, not
even banging of pots, and pans out the window!

I watched everything I could on line! And it was *glorious* !!!
Screen grabbed tons of images.

But I wish I compelled my self to go. Though I was pretty tired after some days of more broken sleep, or less sleep than usual, even the night before yesterday. Maybe that slowed me down.

Last night at least 2 different people set some fireworks off, and there haven't been any in weeks (oh, wre get a lot). That was brief but fun!

To add insult to injury while my nabe doesn't carry the NYT which I by on momentous occasions, I just found out the only bodega that carried the Sunday Daily News (a paper that hates isn't even delivered anymore. Feh!

I just wish there was a place where people were still loudly celebrating.

/rant over

Hopefully it will be decent weather [no big snow storm to dig out from] Jan 18, 19, 20th. I could stand at the northern end of the crowd in Times Sq and watch the swearing in! 👍 A plan in the making.

Gosh, my house is a mess.

It started last year with a local primary race and into July 14th, when that race was finally decided. Then after July 14th, a bunch of other stuff. Nov 4th was my first "day off" in almost a year.

Wanted to celebrate, but gotta clean house..LOL

I don't have anything from this campaign bc I couldn't go anywhere to get stuff. Well, I could have in Oct but every extra trip means an additional potential cv19 exposure. Though our rate is still on the low side w a few hot spots.
I guess I'll go to their Merch store.

I have small batches of things from Obama, Clinton & Clinton. And even earlier campaign buttons back to '68 a few newspaper clippings.

Enjoy your cleaning! I hope you'll feel very contented afterwards! 👍🙂

Hubby put them in the recycle bin, but the collectors could not lift the bin..LOL

We had to settle on another route. There is a dumpster size bin that the schools sponsor, so we took them there.

I took some of my wire stands to the scrap metal people on Friday. I still have plenty more. I also have lots of campaign signs that I need to return to HQ or send to a dog rescue who will repurpose them.

Sadly disappointed. There were some young people with signs but nowhere near what I had been expecting. Lots of cops watching and waiting for trouble but it was just quiet.
However, when I got back home over on seventh Avenue, there was constant cheering, horn honking and general happiness. I was just surprised that it wasn’t in Union Square.

at least in my past experience there can be a fair amount (well, not over usually 100+) say 30 - 50 people w signs etc. for certain things.
Good to know.

Instead- it ran into you vs you looking for it. Cool!

Thanks for taking the time. 👍
