Jones Day, law firm representing Trump's campaign, beginning to recoil at their treasonous task

...yet, keep on treasoning.

Ken Dilanian @KenDilanianNBC 38m
“Some senior lawyers at Jones Day are worried the firm is advancing arguments that lack evidence and may be helping Mr. Trump and his allies undermine the integrity of American elections, according to interviews with nine partners and associates.” https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/09/business/jones-day-trump-election-lawsuits.html

Steve Inskeep @NPRinskeep 5m
“Six Jones Day lawyers said... the main goal of the litigation seemed to be to erode public confidence in the election results.” Yet Jones Day continues representing Trump’s campaign, which is raising “legal defense” money in part to retire campaign debt.

There should be no doubt about that. Enablers like the people at Jones Day better choose wisely.

They sound like the firm that took over the account of the Japanese government's PR campaign on December 8, 1941.

I'm sure they either have one hell of a retainer or have the RNC on the hook for the fee.

Nevertheless, this is a terribly short-sighted decision. I would expect engaging in frivolous lawsuits that endanger the republic will cost them clients.

which is a rule 11 violation.

And that is exactly the Dotard's goal, to undermine confidence in the election.

There is no favour to be curried any more. Representing a new President who seemed like a lion, if you squinted hard and turned your head sideways, must have seemed like a nice move for raising the firm's profile. What is there now? Tying yourself to a sinking ship, with a very loud and crude crew.

No point in them doing this at all.

Every one of the lawyers who Trump uses in effort to suppress the vote should be exposed. Their firms should be held accountable. Corporate clients should be asked why they are working with lawyers who are trying to derail democracy. Hold them responsible.
