(5,727 posts)I wish I could find it now, but there was a tweet (yes, there's ALWAYS a tweet) from the Dotard bragging about how he regularly fires people, that getting fired is the ultimate fate of anyone who works for him. He thinks that's normal and good.

(1,040 posts)... showing so much concern, empathy and compassion for those that work under him.
True story -- my dad was a Pendergast Man in Kansas City. Tom Pendergast (and his brother Mike) essentially ran KC during the 20s and 30s. When the Feds were about to take Pendergast down (on tax charges, a la Al Capone), Tom told all his underlings to go away and separate themselves from him so they wouldn't go down with him. I'm pretty sure my Dad didn't do anything too nefarious (no rubbing people out or anything like that. He was more involved with running the local River Market and delivering food and clothing baskets to widows and orphans). But if Tom Pendergast, the political boss, cared more about his people than Donald J Trump, then that says a hell of a lot about Trump.

(15,003 posts)In one direction you've got risking the firing but an early bite at the limited apple(s) of the few entities willing to hire a Trump insider, in the other direction you've got certain employment for 2 months and a diminished chance for a job later. They deserve the bind they are in.

(10,391 posts)what's left are the dregs, the "unemployables". Fux will hire only a few upper echelon "consultants". The rest of the lot are on their own.

(3,384 posts)This is why he had trouble finding people to work for him. He had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get what he has right now.

(9,988 posts)Getting fired, at least, is an improvement on being a dead-ender who goes down with the ship.

(54,437 posts)Trump staffer: "Have you been looking for a new job?"
Political appointee: "No. Not at all."
Trump staffer: "We saw walking into the personnel office of Engulf and Devour. What were you doing there?"
Political appointee: "I was just visiting my fifth cousin, twice removed, on my mother's side. He works there."
Trump staffer: "What for?"
Political appointee: "To go to lunch."
Trump staffer: "Where did you go and what did you have for lunch?"
Political appointee: "We went nowhere. When I got there, he had gone to lunch."
Trump staffer: "How convenient. Sounds suspicious. What is his name?"
Political appointee: "How should I know? I just told you, he had gone to lunch?"
Trump staffer: "Then why were you there for an hour?"
Political appointee: "I was trying to find out his name. I though somebody ought to know."

(1,652 posts)if they get fired, since its clearly not for cause, its retaliation. Dont know if they have a legal case but I cant see them doing much about it.

(32,082 posts)Political appointees are always fired by a new administration. It is the same as being laid off.
