No, you can't use active duty troops on protestors in a major American city.

So who tells him no now?

Commander, United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).

The Secretary of Defense and the Pentagon staff do not command troops. The chain-of-command runs from POTUS to the unified combatant commanders. The combatant command responsible for all forces in the continental US is USNORTHCOM.

I am confident General VanHerck will not obey unlawful orders from tRump to attempt to undo the election.

this sort of national-security massacre--and what the circumstances were. I have been reading around and not finding much.

I'd tend to think it was revenge for some past slight, maybe like successfully preventing Putin's interference.

Sudden, unexplained, "total decapitation of civilian leadership" 70 days before the end suggests it may be about something planned for the near future.

I will be arrested and noisy.

Local news: old, white lady makes ruckus and screams hurtful euphemisms at President. Taken to nearest readjustment camp. Soon to lose teaching position.
