John F. Kennedy was closer in age to Joe Biden than he was to Dwight D. Eisenhower

Kennedy DOB: May 29, 1917
Biden DOB: November 20, 1942
Difference in age: 25 years, 5 months, 22 days

Kennedy DOB: May 29, 1917
Eisenhower DOB: October 14, 1890
Difference in age: 26 years, 7 months, 15 days

Yet despite this, Kennedy immediately followed Eisenhower as president while 60 years will have separated his and Biden’s presidencies.

This also means that if we end up having a president born in, say, 2019, there will most likely be less time separating their presidency from the presidency of the man born in 1942 than the time separating the presidency of the man born in 1942 from presidency of the man born in 1917 (that’s a mouthful).

That’s some amazing trivia right there.

I think that Reagan was 13 years older than Carter. But Trump was 15 years older than Obama. I think that is the biggest negative age gap between presidents.

So the election of Trump, and now of Biden, has stalled the normal inter-generational progression of the presidency.

It's probably a very bad indicator for the future of American politics.
