1. There is no automatic account requirement in GA.

Trump wanted one (he can ask for a recount if difference is less than 0.5 %), and SOS is ordering one. SOS is calling it an audit because as far as I can tell, nothing entitles Trump to a hand recount.

7. A reporter explained here. Every election year they are required to do a risk limiting audit.

They were going to do a down ballot race but chose the Presidential because it was so close(and it would please Trump).

For an audit, you check some of the ballots, not the whole thing.
