The Foundation for Government Accountability debuted a new website Monday an online database of the salaries of Floridas public employees: FloridaOpenGov.org.
The website is almost a replica of a project by Foundation President Tarren Bragdon at his last place of employment, the Maine Heritage Policy Center.
According to a press release from the organization, the website is a compilation of about 35 million public records detailing nearly $1.4 trillion in spending and payroll by state, county, municipality and school.

(23,051 posts)... that information's public knowledge.
the local newspaper takes great delight in maintaining an online database of just how much all us "overpaid lazy slugs" at the University make.
The local worthies gnash their teeth and rend their hair over the audacity of paying somebody who spent 30 years of their life winning a Doctorate $96,000 a year, or a Technician 60% of what he could make in the private sector.
Hell, they're doing just fine making $9 an hour with their 10th grade education, why do we have to be paid so much?

I understand it is unfair to have your qualifications and pay evaluated by persons unacquainted with what some jobs require, but it's fair to say that goes for a lot of folks, including the ones making $9 an hour for things that you couldn't do.
