We're going into tighter restrictions tomorrow at 5 p.m. I guess I better hit the grocery stores this morning.

(8,445 posts)Years ago I bought a lot of bar towels/shop towels, and I have a basket of them in the kitchen so I can grab one instead of a paper towel. I do use paper towels, but if I run out, it's no biggie.

(8,445 posts)I'm stocked with that because the writing was on the wall that this was coming. I was actually stocked before any of this started because that's how I am. Having grown up in a rural part of ND where we were often snowed in for weeks, I have to have the security of always being prepared. So I'll leave the TP for others, but I'm going to grab a few gallons of milk to freeze, and some more coffee. I think I can get through everything as long as I have coffee.

(8,445 posts)I pour it into freezable containers that are the right size for me. Then you do need to shake it before using because the consistency changes a little. And don't freeze it in the paper cartons. They'll burst.
I only use it in my coffee, and occasionally make hot chocolate, so it works out well for me.
I also freeze eggs. I hardly ever use them - just in baking, so I was happy to see I could freeze them. My sister-in-law tried to tell me you could freeze them in the shell, but that doesn't make sense to me. I crack them and give them a little whisk and freeze them in some little plastic freezable containers I bought for that purpose.
Editing to add: You can freeze milk in the plastic jugs as long as you first take some out for expansion. I like to use the smaller containers so they defrost faster when I need them. so I do no bigger than a quart.
