should 'celebrate' and 'throw away their masks'While coronavirus cases are exploding across the country at higher rates than ever before, Sen. Rand Paul encouraged people to dismiss public health guidance.
The Kentucky Republican claimed that millions of people who have recovered from COVID-19 are now protected against the disease, and therefore do not need to follow rules such as mask-wearing.
"We have 11 million people in our country who've already had COVID. We should tell them to celebrate," Paul said on Fox News on Thursday. "We should tell them to throw away their masks, go to restaurants, live again, because these people are now immune."
His statements directly go against messaging from scientists, doctors and health experts who have repeatedly said there is no evidence that COVID-19 survivors cannot become reinfected and spread the disease again.

OP
That's bad. What's worse if my own physician repeated with authority what Paul said.

Geez, patients rely on their doctors to get the facts right. Not this time.

said they've had some patientss exhibit immunity & som got reinfected, so they just don't know.

If the policy becomes that COVID recovery is a get out of jail free card, how do you think it will be before people realize that there is a social and economic advantage to being post-COVID.
That gives people an incentive to to go ahead and get it so that they can gain that freedom. It would be stupid and risky but that is a powerful incentive to NOT avoid the virus.
