... we're at the mercy of an ambivalent president more focused on grousing about his defeat, watching television, rage tweeting, and executing the purge that began with the firing of Defense Secretary Mark Esper and continued with the termination of two top Homeland Security officials perceived to be insufficiently loyal to him. What damage that negligence and spite can inflict on the country over the next two months remains to be seen. What’s clear, though, is that he’s making good on his September campaign rally threat to vacate his responsibilities, if not his office ...
