If you have not yet read "On Tyranny" by Timothy Snyder, it is my humble opinion that you owe it to yourself to do so.
I got mine last year, read it, thought about it, read it again a couple of months later and put it away as things got hectic in the campaign. I am reading it again and I am ashamed I have not made this post before.
The book is 126 pages long with 20 "bite-sized" chapters and written in plain understandable terms that feature a forehead-slapping "YES!" passage on nearly each page. This guy gets it.
From the intro paragraph to Chapter 8 , entitled "Stand Out": "Remember Rosa Parks. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."
Though it never mentions Trump by name, it was published between the '16 and '18 elections and ascribes several types of fascistic conduct to "the president".
My paperback copy cost $8.99. Used copies are available for less.
It's a small book---about 4" by 5" and they would make great stocking stuffers.
Finally, no, I don't have any stock in Penguin Random House, the publisher. It's just a great little book.
