(3,428 posts)The parallels to Trumpism are chilling. I had not known about Kurt von Schleicher before seeing this episode.
I think that Mitch McConnell could be the U.S.s von Schleicher in that he happily uses Trumpass to retain power, but, ultimately, cannot control him.

(21,646 posts)Americans confront the pandemic, racial tensions, the election and its aftermath.
After the third Rise of Nazis segment the frontline will be about SCOTUS
I recommend the Nazis series as the first segment was very good

(4,599 posts)Part 1 is on there now.
It could happen here. In fact, with such a large population of gullible, hateful people, it seems almost inevitable it will happen here.

(32,099 posts)And, Amazon Prime, if I am not mistaken, along with a few other related documentaries. Rick Steves' episode on the rise of fascism is also available at both these sites. It should be required viewing. (As should Ken Burns' "The Civil War" series, but that discussion us for another day,)

(4,279 posts)This is spooky. The parallels to the present are obvious. Regardless of this past election, our political intrigue continues.
