Tonight we had a celebration honoring the Recall Walker volunteers in our tiny community. Mucho, mucho thanks to our volunteers.
While ours is just a small sampling, the diligent efforts of small teams - grass roots teams - of volunteers like our has smashed the mark of 540.208 signatures needed to force a recall. On Tuesday the 17th (currently scheduled for 3:00 p.m.) the signatures will be submitted to the Government Accountability Board in Madison. There will be plenty.
We were really pleased to be able to bring in some special guests who went out of their way to honor our volunteers. Here's a pic of "fake David Koch" Ian Murphy of the Buffalo Daily Beast....

And one of Ian with our Democratic Party Field Organizer, Jenny Blatz

Here's former State Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager (left) and State Senator Jess King (right) with a very special volunteer.

Peg and Jess address the volunteers and take questions.

And a group photo. The gentleman front and center collected over 1,500 signatures by himself!!!

(8,421 posts)I've signed, and can't believe how many times I was asked "Did you sign?". EVERYWHERE in this great state of ours.
Thank you and all those great volunteers!

(53,475 posts)... we have reports of county after county collecting 120%, 150%, 200% of the target they were assigned. For example, our county has a target of 6,200 signatures and we're now just a handful short of 12,000.
So, my report is unofficial, but I'm very, very confident we will far surpass the 540,000 target.
