Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on the floor speaking against reports Trump will issue an Executive Order to withdraw troops from Afghanistan.

"A rapid withdraw of U.S. forces from Afghanistan now would hurt our allies and delight the people who wish us harm," he said.

We have been in Afghanistan for 19 years and nothing has changed. As soon as we leave the Taliban will take over again.

I want all troops out of Afghanistan, not that I am some "make love, not war" type but as veteran (nocombat) I see nothing to be gained there at all. Too many people have died over there and there is nothig to show for it.

I was ok going in when Bin Laden was there, that mission is over.

We have been there way too long, we have spent way to much money and far to many people have died for lost cause.

I want all troops ouot of both countries both Iraq and Afghanistan, there is absolutly nothing to be gained there.

I honor and repect those who died there and I am sure they would not want other people to die.

The Taliban are not moderated by their time in the wilderness. Back to Burkas, women not allowed to work, enforced beards for men, no Kite-flying, no music, and ethnic repression of non-Pashtuns. More archaeological sites destroyed. But the tradition of Afghan pederasty should continue unabated.

It's inevitable, but I want Americans to understand the reality we're consigning Afghans to. Again.

I'm at a loss as to why we are there. Resources would be my guess but the Afganis have been through this movie a lot of times.
