Is back door communication going on in an significant way?

One time, a week or so ago, some reporter observed that "back door" communication was proceeding between the government and the Biden campaign. I haven't heard any more about that. I sure hope it's true. Hard to believe this wouldn't happen. Has anyone heard anything?
