They have to put the tree up, chock it so it's vertical, then they spend the better of a week repositioning branches (no, really) to thin out the dense parts and fill in the thin parts. Then they string the lights and other decorations. It's like catching someone fresh out of recovery after a general anesthetic procedure. Not looking their best.

I was in New York for a family event in November 2028. The Rockefeller Center tree was delivered on November 10.

In 2019, it was delivered on November 14.

From Wikipedia: The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is a large Christmas tree placed annually in Rockefeller Center, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, United States. The tree is erected in mid November and lit in a public ceremony on the Wednesday following Thanksgiving

The house I grew up in had one that we planted (I think it was a 7 year old tree at the time), so our tree would be almost 60 years old now (we sold the house when our mom passed away about 5 years ago and the tree is still there - it has to be at least 50 - 60 ft tall).

You won't recognize the one in the clip after they put all the lights and other stuff on it!
