The speculation is that there is some friction between him and the Athletic Department. He is a good coach - if he's not having success, there must be some other reasons, and I think academic standards are partly at issue. And NCAA rules about transferring are killing the program (and other programs). They need to somehow fix that.

But Harbaugh or not, Michigan has two ace coaches - Hutch (softball) and Juwan Howard (basketball).
