All this. Every word.

I keep seeing people on here & IRL calling themselves "progressives" while denigrating the choices Black voters make, Black leaders & misrepresenting history.

People who have been fighting for freedom & equality since being dragged here in chains are called centrists while WP, the majority of whom have voted/fought/upheld white supremacy, are called progressive based on nothing other than being for hashtag politics.

White progressives training their fire on women and women of color who are under consideration to lead the nat sec departments makes me deeply uncomfortable about their allyship for those communities.

Especially when the nat sec community is dominated by white men.

Efforts to tar
@micheleflournoy
and
@AmbassadorRice
as warmongers or in the pocket of the defense industry belittles their expertise and experience. Further, it mistakes their personal views for the contexts in which they served and the President whom they served.

Exactly! Who could be more PROGRESSIVE than Black Americans? We've protested for generations for our freedoms in this country; PROGRESSED from 3/5s person to a whole person, from non-voter to voter, from slavery to President and Vice President.

We are the TRUE progressives.

..........

They are right you know, they are the true progressives.

Fact.

When you choose the best in America, you're going to end up with diversity.

This post is quibbling over labels. She is neither a Progressive nor a Centrist; she's an Institutionalist and that's exactly what Biden wants. The Institution is in danger.

Black people selected Biden in the Primary. This Progressive/Leftist/Antifa Ally made peace with that months ago.

It sounds like they are jealous or insecure to me. There are many brilliant poc that have not gotten the credit they deserve, but that is true of women of all colors, too. And I am not downplaying the history of your struggles. It's shameful what poc have gone through in this country. White men have run this country since it's inception, unfortunately, ensuring their succession using bribery, bullying, violence, and deception. Women have fought every inch of the way to get where they are and it is still ongoing. Look at what they did to Hillary. They are still trying to "keep us in our place". Don't buy into their bs. Anyone who is denigrating those exemplary choices is in no way progressive. They are set in their ways and trying to keep the white man in power. I'm so happy our government is starting to look more like a cross section of this country. It's about time. And as for the white women who vote against their best interests, I am baffled. I chalk it up to ignorance and too much privilege. Thankfully, our youth seems to accept people for who they are with all their differences.
