Once it fails, and it most likely will, it will be time to move on.

I think he knows what the Republicans are about. I'm sure he hopes that they will work with him on some issues, but he must realize there's a good chance they'll try to block absolutely everything. And he probably will have a Plan B for that scenario.

Me.

He really thought that by staying cool and calm they would eventually give in. What he has seen is them amping up the aggro and denial of the election. And there are too many people who are not willing, nor should they be, willing to let bygones be bygones. If there are no consequences and pain to be meted out, the Cons will never change their pattern of behavior. People are needlessly dying thanks to them.

Came to Delaware for Beau's funeral at St. Anthony's. Hopefully Joe can appeal to whatever shred of decency and patriotism these slugs may possess.

He fully expects that he's going to be working with sharks, and simply because he is a nice guy doesn't mean he's naive.

He is facing a real challenge here - he needs to model how a president is supposed to act, because we've had four years of a truly horrendous example. One of the consequences of this is that he needs to be seen (publicly) to be fair. Now, that doesn't mean that he isn't going to be on the phone and in video meetings twisting arms or offering compromises, but it does mean that we're not going to see government by tweet or dictat.

exactly how Biden and Harris should deal with Republicans, particularly while the two critical Georgia Senate races are being contested. Thanks in advance for saving me many hours of listening to our elected Democratic Party leaders, when I can simply read the brief comments of real political experts here on DU.

I'm confident he knows who the adults are and who can be played.

One of the many advantages of years of experience.

and multiply it by...several thousand? More? He was in congress from, what, 1972 or so through 2007 and then spent 8 years in the WH, experiencing them up close and extremely personal as they deteriorated into today's corruption and betrayal.

I'd rush to buy a tell-all book by either him or Obama about their experiences with Republicans that were never reported, but neither will ever write it.

As for talking nicely to them, you don't socialize a dog with a stick but by training directed at developing proper behavior.

And the dogs are also out here. Too many people need re-socializing and reminding of how we're supposed to behave.
