(40,209 posts)She wears contacts on her show. I am sure I once heard her talk about how she just cant wear them for long periods of time.

(40,209 posts)Maybe its a different culture at the studio. They put a lot of makeup on her there too.

(31,109 posts)I was wearing contacts for the first few months and then got Lasik surgery and I was risking infection even though I was washing etc.
So she likely would not put them in unless she had to

(32,701 posts)Although I'm sure Rachel has more than enough funds to cover all the contacts she would ever need! Still, it would probably bother me regardless of how much money I had. I like to get at least a full day out of each pair. Lately I've been cheating and wearing them even longer than a day.

(11,683 posts)under bright lights with make up professionals, her contract may provide she look professional to their satisfaction on set.
soldierant
(6,857 posts)but I do know there are lots of people for whom contacts are uncomfortable, yet they need to wear them for work. Actors for a role, Orchestra conductors to get better eye contact with the players. You can probably come up with others if you think about it.

(23,975 posts)...vision started to go, right on schedule in my early 40s.
I usually was not particularly aware of them while they were in, but always noticed that when I took them out at night, it was like my corneas gave a sigh of relief and said, "Oh, thanks, that feels better."

(6,857 posts)that he'd sometimes get noticed by audience members catching them while he was still bowing (trying to be subtle about it.)

(13,783 posts)... and a near lens in the other. That worked fine until dryness put a stop to them. And, yeah. Big sigh of relief!! nt

(51,550 posts)I have it on my Costco glasses--it's an inexpensive add-on when ordering glasses.

(4,305 posts)my guess is she chose to give her eyes a break. They look like she has been crying a bit along with not sleeping along with worrying so why does it matter if she wears glasses or not?

(6,544 posts)Tried contacts, hated them. Uncomfortable and serves mostly one purpose - vanity. Additionally, I like her in glasses, and in general I prefer seeing glasses on people - it means they probably read a lot.

(22,063 posts)I have missed her astute reporting and analysis. And her description of her relationship with Susan was lovely.
I've actually been very curious/nosy about what's in the background of people working from home like this.....pets, artwork, decorating taste. I liked Rachel's barn door. We're going to be making those for our closets and interior doors here.
I gave up my contacts years ago. Just too much trouble.

(1,119 posts)wondered how Biden would look in glasses and would love to see that. I am assuming though that he is wearing contacts, maybe not.

(10,168 posts)or are very uncomfortable for her.
Apparently they "insisted" she wear them on the show, and makeup, to look more attractive. She's talked about this in interviews not long after the show started.
