Washington Post/Bob Costa Tweet: 'Experts: These are the words and actions of an attempted coup'

?s=21

This must be stopped. Glad no less an authority than the WP is calling this what it is though along with Don Lemon on CNN who I am watching right now!

Love Don Lemon. Chris Hayes annoys me.

I noticed Joe DeGenova kept his head down. Victoria was not there!

Edit, Victoria was there, they only showed her at the beginning.

We are all hyper enough right now. Do not need an excitable host. That is why I prefer Lemon. Wake up in the wee hours of the morning no matter how late I stay up. Need a laid back, funny Host. Not much humor in Chris.

Now Nicolle can be very funny.

This weekend, Cha. Hoping that that double whammy followed by a rapid PA certification unnerves the Michigan KGOP assholes.

Hey, BTW, saw you celebrating about Malinowski getting re-elected yesterday. I was right there with ya. Wanted that race bad!

from 2018. He had some really nice things to say about Nancy Pelosi helping to lead them to victory. And what a resume he has!

So glad he won again & Sharice Davids in Kansas District 3.

It must be so hard to campaign so often for Congress Reps!

It’s obvious what they’re doing. People seem to feel comforted by the warm blanket of “its not going to work” but no one really knows. The fact that they’re trying something like this should be enough.

The fact that they've even tried it should have everyone, and I mean everyone who cares about democracy and the future of this country, screaming from the tops of buildings. This is wrong and even attempting a coup is WRONG. I can't think of an appropriate word. Wrong isn't strong enough, but I haven't finished my first cup of coffee and all I can do is moan, 'it's wrong'.

Even judges that he appointed have shot down his terrible legal claims.

His coup is going to fail at every level.

Trump will not be President one second longer than his constitutionally defined term. If that time comes and he tries to remain, he will be removed.

Even if the coup were to work, he wouldn't have a country to lead. It would be all out war until he was gone. If anyone thinks otherwise they are fooling themselves. Nobody is going to be willing to be the cause of the next American Civil War.

"a coup launched by the chief executive himself in order to extend his control over the political system in some extra-constitutional way. It can involve such dramatic and drastic measures as suspending the constitution and declaring martial law but is often a more limited and subtle act or series of acts – the 'creeping coup' version of autogolpe"

It goes on to give the examples of Napoleon III, who set himself up as Emperor, Sukarno in Indonesia who became President for Life, and General/President Park in 1970s South Korea, who got to appoint a third of the legislature, who could then re-appoint him.

ballots or registrations so that they would then 'find' examples of fraud with which to challenge everything. As it is, they appear to have nothing. But they certainly aren't above this kind of play and I'm sure it came up in the basements of Bannon, Wohl, OKeefe, Giuliani, Hannity, and a host of other foreign and domestic players.

Dan Rather fed forged Bush docs? WH fed fake docs alleging Iraqi uranium sale? Fake cartoons of mobile WMD labs? Fake stacks of health care programs? The GOP knows how to game, cheat, and crime the system.

Everything about this administration is fake, except the threat to democracy and foundational institutions. I'm sure Trump's best buddies in Russia, Philippines, Turkey, whom he admires greatly, know how to pull fake elections off.
