Why Republican voters say theres no way in hell Trump lost https://reut.rs/3pKXqz1 this is why "reaching out"and "showing respect" is ludicrous with this segment of his base. They are irrational and not acting in good faith.

Brett Fryar is like many mainstream Republicans. A 50-year-old chiropractor in this west Texas town, he owns a small business. He has two undergraduate degrees and a masters degree, in organic...

(11,744 posts)Gullible implies that the subject is naïve or overly trusting. Trump's supporters already have specific beliefs about the world. Trump just came in and told them that they were correct in language that the GOP was tip toeing around but never said directly. These people want to believe that there is some sort of shady cabal of people who run pedophile rings and plot with illegal immigrants to make their lives difficult. Trump embraced those conspiracies to pull them in. Even though he utterly detests his own followers, they are attached to him.
What needs to happen for this to be mitigated, is for right wing media to somehow be eliminated. We have always had division and we have had partisans. The GOP used the Southern Strategy well despite there not being a right wing media, but can you imagine what Nixon could have done if there were an entire media ecosystem telling half the country that Nixon was doing nothing wrong? I seriously doubt Watergate would have taken him down if Fox, the thousands of right wing radio stations, and right wing internet were around.
They are being fed nothing but lies.

(90,785 posts)At first blush I thought it had to be satire. A couple minutes more and I was laughing in an "Oh, shit. They're serious." kind of way. Then I stopped laughing because, "Oh shit!. They're serious!".
There is no reaching out and for damn sure no showing of respect for people like that.
Not even for those who watch Fox. The people at Fox probably envy the crazy at OAN - or they are glad to not be the biggest wackadoodles out there. Fox looks like actual news compared to OAN - it's not, but it looks like it compared to either OAN or NewsMax.

Every time you power off the cable box, it resorts back to the default view.
You need to manually activate the view profile each time. There is no way to set a default view.
