"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook."

That was in January 2007, and it was universally criticized, but Biden apologized and explained that he'd simply meant that senator Obama was a remarkably fresh and exciting candidate. It didn't save his campaign, but it did have some effect, because in August Barack appointed him VP, and here we are!

(83,751 posts)The one at the presser. He blew his nose, folded his tissue, wiped his mouth, face and eyes. This was after I saw that his son tested positive for COVID. They appeared together at one of those events. All that flop sweat, Rudy must have it as well.
