(10,095 posts)The goal is to destroy the economy, make foreign policy changes to tie Bidens hands, and get rid of as many competent federal employees as possible to hand Biden a broken government and an economy on the brink of collapse.
In 2022 Republicans will likely take back the House because the Democratic advantage is slim and they will use the 2020 census to gerrymander the hell out of every Republican-led state. IF we get Georgias two Senate seats, we may be able to hold the Senate then, but we all know that if that doesnt happen, McConnell will obstruct and prevent any meaningful successes in addressing the virus and the economy.
With Republicans, its always a push to use any tactic necessary to defeat Democrats no matter that it hurts average Americans. They simply dont care. The NYT has an interesting opinion piece today on the blueprint Trump is leaving behind to destroy democracy. WaPo also had an article about why most Republican Senators are remaining silent and not stating that the election was fair and Biden won. I do not believe that theyre afraid of Trump. I think they like what he is doing to sabotage trust in our elections, and theyre silently cheering him on because they plan to do the same in future elections.

(17,989 posts)They'd rather burn it all down. This is pure spite. Fortunately, the policy can be reversed on day 1. And hopefully with little damage between now and then. It's insurance, primarily, to calm financial nerves. If someone needs it, it's there, but like home owners insurance, we rarely need it.
