And Thanksgiving is this week - which will take that number as its base for exponential growth.

To issue health mandates like the masks or limiting gatherings. I'm sure we'll be alright after that.

of over 12,000 cases that are being reviewed.
Expect the majority of these to be positive.
The numbers are only going to get worst, the rwnj still won’t wear a mask.

It looks from the state dashboard that the numbers were really low over the weekend so maybe they are just releasing delayed cases?

I don't live in Ohio but have been tracking it since my daughter is at Ohio State. She comes home in two days and hopefully won't be bringing it with her. She is tested constantly but there is nothing to insure she won't catch it on the way to the airport or on the plane.

8. That's a national pattern

In Ohio, the last time Monday was higher than Friday was early June.

Generally, Mondays are between 70% & 80% of Friday's total. Weekends are nearly always lower - although Saturday is sometimes higher.

So this is the pattern that has been holding - BUT - the daily mutiplier is increasing (as is typical when there is exponential rate of growth of infections)

Franklin County (where your daughter is) went purple last Thursday - the only county, ever, to be purple. Wear double masks! Drive, if she can.

But this past weekend was exceptionally low. Similar to numbers from 6-8 weeks ago. It seems like an outlier that could cause the subsequent days to be higher as a consequence.

It is bad no matter how it is tabulated.

I wish there was a better way to get her home but driving isn't an option since a person that age can't rent a car. Since it is a two day drive to South Florida, driving comes with all kinds of other exposure like hotels, restaurants and rest areas. No good way to do it.

13. Is there the equivalent of a ride board?

When I traveled between Nebraska and Ohio in college, there was a ride board where we could find buddies. Since Ohio State is being tested, it would be relatively safe (more so if both parties wear masks). It's likely they offer instant tests - I'm getting one from my university (in Ohio) on Wednesday. Most of the road exposure can be minimized (eating in the car or outside, quick trips into the rest areas, driving overnight to avoid the hotel.

You're right there is no good solution - but I'd come close to moving heaven and earth to avoid getting in a flying petri dish.

Good luck!

ETA: Saturday and Sunday were flipped - typically Saturday is higher, Sunday lower. The ratios compared to the prior day were pretty consistent with earlier weeks.

Unfortunately, my challenges come both outside and inside the home. So I don't have any down time, and it is extremely draining.

stimulus or extended unemployment so they go to work. And the disease spreads...it is Mitch McConnell and the GOP's fault for not passing a Covid bill...hell we will be lucky if these weasels don't shut down the government on December 11th.
