My immediate observation, too. Should be 1:4:9 (squares of 1:2:3). lagomorph777 Nov 2020 #20

"...it is found to be a black cuboid whose sides extend in the precise ratio of 1 : 4 : 9 (1² : 2² : 3²) and is sitting on a platform of the same material above undisturbed rock. Clarke suggests that this sequence or ratio extends past the three known spatial dimensions into much higher dimensions.

If it’s solid that would certainly raise even more questions. But it looks man made to me; probably a hollow shell. Would be good to see some real close up shots

Utah's Department of Public Safety website

I'm sure the location will get out soon. If they really wanted to keep it a secret then they wouldn't have disclosed its existence in the first place.

Lots of speculation, although I doubt that anyone thinks it came from a hardware store.

So, if the truth be known the original monolith was to be made of Plexiglas. But Kubrick didn’t like it. The final version was said to be inspired by a pack of cigarettes.

So transporting the materials and putting them together wouldn't be as difficult as one big heavy chunk. And looking at different pictures it's triangular not square.
