Employees at Penguin Random House Canada reportedly cried over the publisher's decision to publish Jordan Peterson's new book during a town hall meeting.
Peterson, a Canadian clinical psychologist self-styled as the "professor against political correctness," announced his new book Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life will be released in March 2021 in a YouTube video on Monday.

Employees say he promotes hate speech and argue that the book should be cancelled.
Management says: "We are open to hearing our employees' feedback and answering all of their questions," the statement added.

(4,429 posts)looking at the title (I've not read anything he's written).
But in general, I support books being published and think that no one should be censored (he isn't being censored, but the staff are apparently requesting that).
If you don't like his ideas, debate them in the marketplace. Otherwise, I think publishers should keep publishing .

(4,602 posts)On a mac you hold down the option key and hit 3. I think on a PC you hold down ALT and type 0163, but I have no way of testing that.
on edit: Although it appears that DU doesn't recognize it since it's not in my subject line. Weird. £
