Fascinating story.
You don't really want to mess with the Swedish Air Force, they jealously guard their air space and they're top notch pilots.

and I were at a get together in our retirement community with 5 or 6 couples one night. The men, all retired at that point and from different parts of the country started talking about what they used to do. Turned out 4! 4! of the men had all worked on some part of Blackbird! I think it must have been keeping the economy afloat single-handed!

Saw a photo about ? 52 years ago and in person back around 2002 on the Intrepid Aircraft Museum - they had one on the runway among many other amazing aircraft! 👍

Blackjack bomber looks to the B-1B?

Think they copied the basic design of the Lancer?

I was at Castle over 20 years ago, I was surprised by the size of the engines/exhaust, they look smaller on photos.

I was paying more attention to the nose, the delta wings , and the front of the jet engine with that badass black cone and the red ring at it's base! 😁

BTW did you see under the front of the fuselage by the pilots area the small clear semi-circular "bubble" for the Spy Camera. 👍

But budgets and politics rule. Now Trump has ended the Clear Skies program and his having the aircraft destroyed. Might be handy right now to have a few of them still around and airworthy.

How important are such acts of bravery in today's context! Thank you Joe Biden. You rebuilt NATO alliances and we stand strong, united, against Russian imperialism.
