I was crying for Leonard Cohen as well as the devastating election results.

I knew the next four years would be bad. I just didn't know how bad...

The actuality exceeded my wildest expectations. A "near-catastrophe" turned into "nearly apocalyptic."

It was such a beautiful act of defiance and joy. So grateful to have a little weight taken off this country’s soul now that 45 has been evicted.

That said, I'll likely never not feel sad and angry about what they did to Hillary, and I'm not just talking about 2016.

It's much more of a magnum opus than most people realize. 5 spiral notebooks full of lyrics, almost 90 verses in all, but to the best of my knowledge, the total number has never been put together in a collection.

In my opinion, the 3 best versions are, of course, Leonard Cohen's, which I find kind of sardonic and almost mocking. kd lang, whose version is virtually an anthem. She could sing the phone book.

My favourite version, and Cohen's, too, was by Jeff Buckley. He sang the song the way I feel it - a tragedy. Kate's version here is most similar to Buckley's.

I would LOVE to read the totality of this song. I can't even imagine how he found even 10 or 15% of that number of words or combinations of words that rhyme with "hallelujah." High on my list of the greatest songs of all time.

Kate McKinnon is phenomenally talented, being able to do straight acting, comedic acting, impressions and singing...and it turns out, playing piano. She doesn't get anywhere near the credit she deserves.

It takes study and total concentration to hit the characters that she plays, and she always knock it out of the park.
