I've figured out why Occupy rocks! Psychopaths will force one single reality on all the people.

Last edited Tue Jan 10, 2012, 06:18 AM - Edit history (1)

Usually there are multiple realities amongst various people, even within groups. Hell their are multiple realities between any two people. As it should be. The GOP has been forcing its narrative on americans (fewer taxes, no abortion, no regulation, etc). On the left, there has been dueling narratives forced on people. By telling folk they have a voice with OCCUPY, people are reclaiming their realities. And they feel less forced for saying what is truly in their hearts & minds, and acting on that. That is all the bubbling up that is going on with the huge meetings and locally based truths. That is why people feel suddenly free.

Which narrative? How has it been forced?

On edit: While I'm puzzled by that assertion, I agree with your overall thesis; OWS allows people to reclaim many suppressed/"not allowed" personal realities, worldviews, etc...

are forced on others. The whole point is that people are free under Occupy to follow their own beliefs and priorities when coming up with a list of issues.

health care think that world trade is bad. It isn't that I'm saying the left is wrong. Cause god knows I'm to the left of people here on many issues. I'm saying the fact that people have to be concerned with a list of certain things if they hang around the left is unnatural. It would be normal for everyone to have their own priorities on said lists. And their lists should vary.

...though, which is one reason (of many reasons, never mind election tampering, the corruption of money, well-timed assassinations and "accidents," etc.) that the right more easily prevails during "elections."

But I agree that people need to be free to prioritize issues for themselves, and out of that discussion/exchange, a list of actual "people's issues" can arise, instead of us being told what's important...

...which, in most cases, is to "panic" in the run-up to the latest war the PTB want us to die and sacrifice rights for.

(But again, that would mostly be "the right" and its weak-kneed enablers among the "moderates," as opposed to an actual coalesced "left...&quot

Perhaps the sudden manifestation of a mass unscripted narrative has awakened some to question what our stated values are, vs. what our 'values' have wrought. Expect an all out push back from the 1% to 'remind' us of what constitutes patriotism, law abiding citizenship, and the extent to which these values can be challenged.

that is relevant to what we are seeing now all over the place:

"The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate."

Let's throw in one from Frank Zappa:

"The ILLUSION of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."
— Frank Zappa

The 99% allows people to bond with a much wider group than the GOP allows people to connect to. And people feel good for being in this group.
