(9,953 posts)... assassinations have been known to start Wars. I wonder who is responsible? Of course, the people responsible are the ones who most benefit...

(16,616 posts)details Mossad's plans to take out Iranian nuclear scientists. They did assassinate a number of them and the page closes by explaining that Fakhrizadeh was the scientist they were most worried about. Iran placed massive security around him. Meir Dagan was the brains behind the plan to assassinate the Iranian nuclear scientists. Dagan died in March 2016.
That's near the end of the book.
(It's a really good book, by the way)

Normally one would assume that Mossad did this (with our tacit approval).
But given the purges Trump has put in place at DOD of late, can you really be sure we didn't do it?

(16,616 posts)Are we good at this type of thing?
The assassins actually got into Tehran. I find this quite interesting.
It looks from the photo like it was a vehicle to vehicle assassination. It could have been an explosive device, but I can't see anything blown up in the photo (of course it's hard to see because of the distance). Mossad is just so skilled at those type of hits.
