There are supposedly 74 million disgruntled Trump voters out there. I live in a deep red area. Where are they? Even the ones who embraced everything Trump did are silent, and these people have threatened some pretty horrible things. I have heard them. But now the Bloat Boy is on the way out they have fallen silent.
Are they reflecting on all the shitty things that they have endorsed over the years? Are they embarrassed at the things they said to me, a guy they`ve known for years? Do they not want to admit that I was right about Trump?
I do know that they are not buying into the election theft. They seem to think that the deep state picks the president and adjusts the votes accordingly so voters don't matter. (Really)
I see the phenomenon of the Trump voter dying out and his followers disengaging and retreating to safer places on the web. Their nihilistic view of politics practically demands disengagement after a loss.
And covid is a way for the government to have an excuse to inject us with nanobots that will ALTER OUR GENETIC CODE! Wake up sheeple!

(19,201 posts)for the "honor" of hearing his lies and distortions. They get Limbaugh for free (until he kicks the bucket), they have FOX Noise and OAN free of charge. Why would they pay to hear Trump when they get the same garbage for free? Like you, I believe he'll lose a lot of his "base" after he re-enters the private sector, and I don't foresee many paying to hear his trash talk.

(53,776 posts)stand by, but he hasn't had a peep to say to them after he lost. Not a peep. That would've been the time to call them to action, but no, he's cadet bone spur who wants no part of war.
And where are all his "armed to the teeth" supporters who were allegedly itching to start the new civil war with their AR-15s and camo uniforms? Why do they need a signal from trump?
I almost wish they'd try something. The National Guard and state police would root them out and put them down quickly like was done to those Michigan domestic terrorists who planned to kidnap Gov. Whitmer.

(4,465 posts)is exhausting. Hatred is a fire that burns very hot, and needs lots of fuel. For Trump the fuel was adulation. For his followers the illusion that someone cared about them and would fight for their hatred as well as validate it.
Op-ed Daily
(69 posts)They believe that Trump won and they think Trump is playing 5D chess and "winning." They actually believe he's going to pull something out, prove fraud, get electors switched out, you name it.
The cultists will be out with their pitchforks once it becomes 100% apparent that they have no recourse and Biden will be inaugurated.
Granted, the number of cultists that are willing to actually go out and do something is very small in comparison with the number of people that voted for him. They are in an even smaller minority than just "Trump supporter."
If you ever get a chance, go to a site called godlikeproductions and just scroll through those threads and you'll see how their minds are working. Those are the hardest of hardcore conspiracists there, so it's a decent indicator of the true nutters, and there are many.

(69 posts)Every now and then, they will shut out all of the "ACs" and they require you to sign up at that point.
When that happens, though, they will flood an account with negative karma and the moderators will eventually ban them. I've been going there for years just to watch the absolute trainwreck of humanity unfold.
But, they DO have a great COVID thread that I mainly use because they come up with some good articles about it.
And you're right - they are crazy, crazy, nutsos. That site has been around, I think, as long as DU has too. Pure insanity. lol

(53,776 posts)signal to them to take action? They're all talk. Once he lost you'd think they would've taken to the streets since they appeared to be so anxious to start the new civil war.

Yeah, there's the hateful racist ones who get far too much airtime on the news, but there's also the religious cult members who are convinced we're all going to hell if we don't vote to cage babies, starve the poor, let the "law & order president" break the law on a daily basis, etc., because of abortion. His character doesn't matter because he will give them what they want if the vote for him. This is the exact definition of selling your soul to the devil. But, yeah, we're the ones going to hell.

(17,912 posts)they don't reflect on much and are likewise not embarrassed by much. Other than a few outliers, their threats are as empty as their heads. In that department, many are a greater threat to themselves than anyone else.
Anecdotally, I am getting the vibe that they think all is rigged, thus there's no use in doing the politics thing anymore. Oh, they'll continue to watch Fux News and listen to their favorite wackadoodle on the radio, but we may not see the turnout of those demographics like Nov. 2020 for quite a while. Unless Donnie follows through on his threats and solidifies control of the Republican Party or starts one of his own, we may not see these people at polling places again. And he's not very good at following through on his threats. In many ways, he's just like the rabble that follows him.

(1,602 posts)I know a number of conservatives (including a couple of family members) who despised Trump but, at the end of the day, couldn't bring themselves to vote for the Damn Libruls. I also still think there was about a 2 1/2 point bias from touch screens in red states, but that wasn't enough to overcome Biden's inherent lead due to the volume of mail-in ballots, so the actually numbers are probably closer to 70M v 83M. I think the Ossof/Warnock Senate elections will tell an interesting tale, though I still see regaining the Senate as something of a long shot. Trump's increasing ire against the Republicans could very well cost them the Senate, but I do think that true Republican motivation is definitely lacking at this point.

(933 posts)They got a bloody nose and now theyre sulking. Theyre not waiting, theres no plan, theres just nothing. Just a bunch of willfully stupid people who thought their choice of idiocy would find confirmation and validation in more stupid racists.
The problem is not minorities. Its not Mexicans coming over the border. The last thing in the world we need is a wall. The entire Republican Party platform is a fools statement made by bought fools by fools with slightly deeper pockets.
Rising automation without a very, very significant redistribution of wealth will end every government experiment. We cannot deny the restructuring of the economy this requires, a restructuring we will all live through. Either we handle this redistribution properly and all of us move ahead, or we will trigger an impossible cycle of poverty the like of which fiction writers cannot imagine. More, automation will erase corporations and any idea of employment. In fact, digitally autonomous corporations will significantly outperform any possible human organization and hiring people will simply be a detriment, an impediment to the speed of progress.
The sooner we reinvent the economy to leverage this, the sooner we get through this process and the sooner we get on with our lives.
The virus was an opening salvo to what comes next.

(53,776 posts)is for us to win the Senate in the Georgia run-offs then Biden can began wholesale infrastructure modernizationroads, bridges, sewer systems, high-speed internet, green new deal with alternate energy development (of course the virus has to be defeated).
That will be millions of jobs and will last for years and automation will not come to the fore with that taking place. But it all depends on taking the Senate.

(19,549 posts)It is slowly sinking in with the Trump crowd that Covid is not a hoax, as numbers climb around here.
Was at a small public gathering (AA meeting), and about half were Trumpers. The church mandated all wear masks, and they all complied, though one or two of the true sociopaths wore them dick nose style, or half on.
Smackdown2019
(1,186 posts)Answer is quite simple, out of those 74 million casted trump votes, 50 million are OLD-TIME Republican voters. The other 24 million are the ones who ignorant of the process and believe it is not over, with trump winning or the ones I hear that Biden and the Democrats cheated. Some of those 24 million voters dont even have internet and come down from the hills, in 2020! My area last weekend had a trump rally, bunch of idiots driving around with a losing flag.
Summation: trumpers will fade away into a new cult. They were the tea party 12 years ago, now they are now forming into a new cult party. After January, I suspect everything of the trump administration will be exposed as a lie and detrumpinzing will have to take place. Maybe we need to March them through some the children detention camps trump had.....

(9,246 posts)About 30% of the public strongly approve of MF45 (trumpers). Another 15% somewhat approve (moderates/habitual GOP).
Did MORE come down from the hills this time compared with 2016? Why was that? Perhaps more of the red meat trumpers love?
