2. No, not really. Precious few Dems are into self-defeating "purity."

Democrats ARE into liberal aspirations, ideals, and making progress happen. We demonstrate that every election. Protecting rights, incomes, healthcare, all the things that people want for themselves.

Most of what some are calling ideological warfare within the party is actually extremist assault from far-leftres proud not to be Democrats. And from other lying enemies who claim WE're the far left.

As for identifying LW extremists and anti-Democratic populists v Democrats, how about if someone believes the Democratic Party is the big obstacle to good and progress that they have to overcome? Identifying? Crazy?

How about their insistence that Democrats could have accomplished what America needs but haven't because we're too corrupt and conservative ("centrist" as they call liberal Democrats) to do it?

How about stealing a century of Democratic Party goals and beliefs and insisting they're theirs?

Progressive Teddy Roosevelt called those of his day "the lunatic fringe." FDR tried to work with them, but they were enraged at the New Deal's betrayal of the people, so that the New Dealers also called those of their era the lunatic fringe.

Those who believe that kind of lunatic fringe whackjobbery are caught up in textbook EXTREMIST beliefs. Counterparts to the right's trumpists. Not believing it but claiming it's all true anyway identifies lying scoundrels on both sides.
