Pictured: A doctor hugged a distraught elderly covid19 patient on Thanksgiving

A photo of Dr. Joseph Varon, chief of staff at United Memorial Medical Center in Houston, cradling a COVID-19 patient in his ICU in full PPE is going viral this Thanksgiving.

He has worked for 251 days straight battling the onslaught of daily COVID-19 cases.

His story and image represents the work of many medical workers on the front lines of the pandemic as cases surge in the US this holiday season.

"My concerns for the next six to 12 weeks is that if we don't do things right, America is going to see the darkest days in modern American medical history," Varon told CNN.

On the eve of Thanksgiving, Dr. Joseph Varon, chief of staff at United Memorial Medical Center in Houston, Texas, told CNN "America is going to see the darkest days in modern American medical history" over Christmas if we don't change course fast

This so sad, especially since we know things could have been a lot different.

what the Dumpster anti-guideline sociopaths both in and out of government are doing to Dr. Varon and the medical community who didn't sign up for this. If current public endangerment laws don't cover this then there needs to be some new laws on the books to hold the assholes accountable.

My sister in law got the virus in April, she got it at the retirement home that she works at, she still has trouble breathing at times. My sister is battling it at the moment along with her partner and partner's daughter, they seem to be doing ok with just mild symptoms but with this thing you never know how things can go. It's just so frustrating that after almost a year people still believe this thing is a hoax.

I want justice for all the suffering!

These assholes and their railing against anything democrats suggest went even to basic common sense protection, so I have no qualms about them all being executed by firing squad for crimes against humanity!
