(1,102 posts)Biden would look even taller if the camera was equidistant from both candidates.
In this case, Trump is closer to the camera so his height appears more than it actually is.

(42,862 posts)He's pathetic.
malaise
(268,968 posts)He's obsessed with central casting and Biden beat him from head/hair to toes

(42,862 posts)He looks like a complete idiot! Why would ANYONE on his staff allow him to go out in public like that??
Now... here's a man who knows how to wear a tux (and who looks good doing it!) GQ all the way.
The photo below doesn't show Biden in a white-tie tuxedo... but you can see that he'll cut a much sharper figure in his clothes than the doughy and padded-crotch/diaper-bottom Trump does.

(268,968 posts)That he showed up in that spoke volumes - the worst visual of man in a tuxedo that I have ever seen

(66,328 posts)But white-tie-and-tails and a tuxedo are two different things. Take it from a die-hard clothes horse.
As hard as it may be to believe now, a tuxedo was once considered almost shockingly casual. It was the forerunner of what later came to be know as 'lounge suits', suits with a short jacket rather than a long skirt like the frock-coat, or the swallowtail like the cutaway tailcoat.
White tie, worn now only for the most formal of occasions, was pretty common wear among the wealthy for dinner out, dinner in, the opera, gatherings of the social elite, and so on.
The tuxedo was a move away from such stiff formal wear in the fading days of the Victorian Era.
Nowadays, when most people can't be bothered to wear anything more formal than sweats and a ball cap almost anywhere, the tuxedo seems almost ludicrously formal.
I once thought no one could look bad in white-tie-and tails. Trump proved me horribly wrong...
On edit: A good example of the way the tuxedo was once looked down upon appears in an episode of "Downton Abbey". The male members of the Crowley family wear white tie to dinner every night. One night, they're entertaining a guest who doesn't possess white tie, so he wears a black tie evening suit to dinner. The Crowleys are genteely scandalized.

(268,968 posts)and you are correct (we do use them interchangeably these days) but the truth is that the Con looks awful in his - Obama looks perfect - love you back

(66,328 posts)And despite President-elect Biden's image as a scrappy working class kid, he also looks pretty darned good in tailored clothing.
(One gripe about the pic of Biden above is his shoes; they look like cheap loafers, and they haven't been polished. I'm giving him a pass, though. The rest of his outfit is impeccable; and I imagine that when pressing the flesh, a pol has to wear comfortable shoes in order to get through his day.)

(268,968 posts)With Obama she looks Happy - with Killa Con - her shoulders are drooping and my bet is that she's wondering who dragged this in?
