They clamped down on a broad range of content that made advertisers squeemish about 2 years ago. Gun porn, canabis channels, some lifestyle channels, etc.

The gun groupies have been searching for an alternative platform, but there isn't one with youtubes reach and pay scales.

So this will probably push them to a new platform where they can be as vile and crazy as they like. But,the advertisers likely won't follow, at least not to the degree they fund youtube videos to be produced.

Yes, producers of content on youtube actually make livings doing it. There is a seedy underbelly to it all. Net-net, youtube is entertainment and infomercial, but don't look for any object info on products from the big guns. They are owned by the companies they review. Many will say "I bought this with my own money!", but what they don't tell you is the manufacturers have agreed to reimburse them if they like the video.

Sorry for the sidetrack at the end. But yeah, the crazies are upset at youtube and would love a crazytube.

.. for Democracy.

I hope you will block any attempt on Trump's part to interrupt the January 20th swearing-in of Biden / Harris.

Twitter, YouTube has thrown down the gauntlet will you follow their lead?

Trump is THE LOSER we don't need to hear one additional peep from him especially after January 20th, 2021.

And, as an aside, YT and other content providers enable some posters to make a GOOD living. 6-figure incomes.

Joe Rogan's venture is different in that he interviews people that interest him, many of which are well-respected scholars, and sincere people with relevant things to say. Some are loons, and some are very narrowly-focused, but he makes it work in a HUGE way.

It's estimated that his podcast grosses around $30,000,000 a year, and he recently signed a deal worth a reported $100,000,000. Even a tiny fraction of that kind of money would be VERY welcome around here.

If you want to be a mainstream, coporate backed social media platform, you have to avoid fringe views.
