Trump Replaces Barr With Anti-Regulatory and Pro-Corporate Crusader Who Has No Experience as a

Prosecutor

Attorney General Bill Barr is leaving his post just before Christmas, according to a letter of resignation released late Monday.

The 77th and 85th attorney general’s replacement is a committed conservative movement ideologue and pro-corporate crusader whose reliability as a yes-man is adequately reflected by his stature and esteem in the power-and-money-reflexive world of big law.

Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, who has no experience as a prosecutor, is slated to take Barr’s place as acting attorney general and will step into that role just as soon as Barr formally and officially steps down on December 23.

According to lame duck President Donald Trump, “Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, an outstanding person, will become Acting Attorney General. Highly respected Richard Donoghue will be taking over the duties of Deputy Attorney General.”

Rosen is a bureaucrat, I don’t think he will do anything for Trump that Barr refused to do. We could have done a lot worse than Rosen in my view.

I almost guarantee that is primary motivating factor ... but he also is desperate for 'his' AG to tell him if he's facing any trouble when he leaves. Barr may not have been willing to give him either thing.

Not excusing or trying to shift focus. I don't think he had any either. We'll see how much damage trump and this AG can do on their way out the door.
