LANSING, MI - The turnout was pathetic, one Trump supporter said to another Monday in front of the Michigan State Capitol.
For most of the day, journalists and state troopers vastly outnumbered the protesters, fewer than a dozen, objecting to the states electors officially voting for President-elect Joe Biden in the Dec. 14 meeting of the Electoral College.

We always strive to make this place a safe place for those to express their constitutional rights, state police Lt. Brian Oleksyk said of the police presence. Ive been here for 11 demonstrations this year. Ive been here for all those, and I can tell you that you probably think theres probably a large police presence because theres nobody else here.
Protesters outside the Capitol steps voiced their disapproval with the election results. Forrest Ray, a demonstrator not affiliated with any groups, bemoaned the pathetic turnout, criticizing those on social media challenging the election as keyboard warriors.

The whole threat by Eisen, et al, was nothing but more boasting, blustering bullshit from MAGAts.
For once apathy worked in our favor.

(34,403 posts)and had to drive past the Capitol on my way back home. The tiny crowd looked so pathetic huddled on the lawn, trying to look tough as they hunched over against the 19F wind chill while it spit snow. I just laughed from my cozy, warm Subaru with heated seats and flipped them off as I drove by.

(26,268 posts)It was the night of Snyder's 'State of the State' address and it was absolutely horrible, nasty, freezing, snowy weather but a massive crowd showed up and stayed for a LONG time.
I could barely even feel my feet when we walked back to the car, but it was well worth the discomfort.
