Approximately 168,000 people voted in-person yesterday, up from 136,000 on the first day of in-person early voting for the presidential election.

(8,053 posts)And Stacey Abrams has made sure that tens of thousands of new voters are registered for this election.
We pretty much owe our democracy to Stacey Abrams at this point. She's way beyond awesome.

They both knew my name and we talked briefly about the importance of getting out the vote.
The last one didn't even live here -- she lives in Virginia.
They (the Abrams team) is doing a bang up job

This phone bank is working the Warnock campaign. I am starting to recognize other folks from previous sessions. It's cool!
The people I talk to are surprised someone from Texas is making phone calls to Georgia...I always tell them "we know how critical it is to win these two races" When they comment on the number of contacts they have received, I tell them they are very popular. Supposedly once they vote they drop off the lists.
I think there are about 10 different groups making calls.

(1,351 posts)What has the media been focusing on 24x7? COVID? Nah, too boring. Lets go with the latest outrageous statement made by Trump regarding election fraud (he needs advertising for his PACs after all!). And lets focus on the 74 million who voted for Trump (they are angry! How will Biden reach out?) versus the 81 million who voted for Biden.
The media wanted a civil wargood for ratings ya knowand theyre getting one. Trump voters are PISSED and they see this as a way to hand Trump a win.
Ive seen almost zero coverage of Georgia from a Who are the candidates perspective. Its been Trump v Biden all over again.
So I fear those are largely Trump supporters, I hope Im wrong. Never underestimate the medias ability to help Trump on their efforts to raise ratings.

(14,764 posts)Some republicans did vote early, but the majority of voters were dem in early voting. Of course they aren't all dems, but it should be skewed towards us.
With all the ranker between trump and the gop, trump voters are likely just chilling and stewing. Most will eventually vote. But I suspect we will turn out early and they will turn out late.
But it will be a battle of turnouts. We tend to not do well in off year or special elections from a gotv standpoint unless something unusual drives people out. This election certainly qualifies as unusual.

(1,351 posts)I know in Florida a lot of Trump voters were Election Day voters but I dont know if that was true for Georgia. I would assume that any Trump voters in Georgia learned how important it is to show up due to Trump losing to Biden, so they may have changed their behavior from the Presidential election.
I guess well find out but it would be nice to hear from some local Dem strategists what they are seeing in regards to turnout breakdown (what counties, etc).

(14,764 posts)Aside from a few posts on the numbers of voters applying for absentee ballots and a few on fun billboards and truck ads, we haven't been hearing a lot about the ground game.
At least we haven't been flooded with stupid polling numbers.
