Rumor has the soon-to-be-former First Family relocating to Palm Beachbut how do residents of the exclusive enclave feel about that?BY MARSHALL HEYMAN

Palm Beach is very divided, says another local, perhaps a bit more coyly. On the one hand, Trump would bring visibility to the town as a tourist attraction, helping it in difficult economic times. On the other, many of the areas residents would be just as happy without the hoi polloi milling aboutand they say Trump was never really one of them anyway.
Trump was here frequently before his presidency and never left his own clubs, so there isnt really a reason to think post-presidency would be any different, says an in-the-know resident. (Many people interviewed for this article did not want to be quoted on the record.) She adds that the Trump family always chose to be very secluded within Mar-a-Lago.
Another adds that although Trump may bring attention to Palm Beach, he has never patronized any shops or restaurants, either before or during his presidency. I highly doubt that will change. A third local observer notes, Honestly, in all the years that hes lived here, whether part-time or permanently, he has never attempted to become a contributing member of the community.
Instead hes often holed up inside Mar-a-Lago, his private club, which has 500 high-net-worth members who dont scoff at the $200,000 initiation fee and $14,000 or so in annual dues. Trump enjoys being in the Mar-a-Lago cocoon, according to the New York Times, where the president is in his most comfortable mode playing the jocular host in front of an adoring crowd.

Hey Trump can finally get that wall he wants! And I think that Mexico actually might be willing to pay for this one!

Sounds like Palm Beach and New York City have the same opinion of the First Loser. He ought to check into Mar-a-Lago and not ever come out.
