Honestly, I think's Trump's post-election significance is being much overestimated.....

..... watching MSNBC, there was lots of talk about him running a "shadow presidency" and that he'll still be the defacto head of the Republican Party. Maybe I'm wrong, but I see his impact fading rather quickly.
My bigger concern is that the next right-wing flavor of the month might be a more competent fascist.

Honestly, his batshit crazy followers are completely unfathomable by me. They could keep maga-ing, or could switch to a new flavor, or could all decide they’re now into making YouTube videos about eating wood chips and old socks and none of those options would surprise me more than any other.

The two paths to continued power I think of are:'
1) A run for president in 2024.
2) Power as "king-maker" whose endorsement helps Repuke candidates.

Given the state of Orange Jabba's physical and mental health, it's hard to imagine him as a viable 2024 presidential candidate. But it's still hard for me to imagine how a habitually mendacious, racist, failed businessman won the 2016 Repuke nomination, so what do I know.

So it's a little bit the same story for case #2 - I can't fathom why a MAGAt would care for Drumpf's opinion in the first place. His reputation should be so tainted by the continued losing, that his endorsement should hold little weight. But this is the MAGAts, the same people who are still sending him money.

he takes out his revenge on Mitch and the GOP by telling his cult NOT to vote in the Georgia Senate race. After that he can do his best to rip the republican party apart while trying to defend himself from all the lawsuits and investigations that will be coming up.

Eventually, the loser label is going to stick, especially once the lawsuits and indictments start to pile up. Once all but his most die-hard cult members realize that nobody is taking their guns away, we aren't shifting into radical communism or even socialism, churches aren't being closed down and life is pretty much going on as usual, he is not going to have as much appeal as he did when he was in power.

Besides, he is a one subject bore. He's only interested in himself and what directly affects him. It's always the same old rants, over and over again. You could see his groupies getting bored with him toward the end of his first term as it was, even when they still thought he was going to win. They will latch on to something or someone else and eventually forget about him.

He's getting more unhinged by the moment. Even the most obtuse MAGAt will become disillusioned at some point.
