"SNIP......

In what would be an act of defiance of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Sen-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) suggested on video that he will challenge the Electoral College vote on January 6, while campaigning for the GOP Senate incumbents in Georgia.

.....SNIP"

So that's how. It will be one of the 1st acts the new Congress takes.

GA runoff is 1/5, confirmation of the EC vote is 1/6.

Gonna be a shit show any way you slice it.

Tuberville, the dummy who was asked to name the three branches of the USG and replied: “Executive, Senate and House”. Go ahead goober, we’ll enjoy republithugs fighting amongst themselves, as it will not change a thing since we control the House.

to him how the cow ate the cabbage. Then Tommy will do as he's told or he won't get any good committee assignments or fundraising help in the future.

He won't be getting any assignments that will help him have any influence or further his political career.

ETA: interesting phrase there, cow ate the cabbage. I'll have to look it up!

That's the story of his life. He's in it for the grift. He goes where it leads him.

In this case, it will lead him to do as McConnell says once Mitch explains that those committee assignments are how you get rich. Those committees allow access to the information that turns into lucrative investments. It also earns the attention of supplicant lobbyists eager to curry your favor by any means.

Thanks for the explanation; I had a vague idea of how it works but you explained the nuts and bolts very well.
